Reading from Gorce Mountains – 02.10.2016

On the 2^nd of October (the Feast of St. Guardian Angels) in the Holy Year of Mercy 2016 on the Mount Turbacz in Gorce Mountains we opened the following reading from the Holy Bible:

And as they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, Tell no one the vision, until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.” And the disciples asked him, “Then why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?” He answered, “Elijah does come, and he will restore all things. But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.

And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon,and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly.Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and ^lnothing will be impossible for you. But this kind of evil spirits does not go out except by prayer and fasting ".

We opened the word trying to get an answer whether we could create scout troops connected to HGW, but the answer was directed to a different horizon than a question. For God is not on our services as Delphi Oracle but He encourages us to listen to him (even when He is not talking about what we are asking about.)
The first part of the reading from Gorce Mountains may be, for example, interpreted to await the organizational decisions, until the spiritual resurrection will appear in the Pack and points to John the Baptist - Elijah.
John the Baptist is a figure of catechumenate (way to receive Baptism) but also of evangelization.
There is a clear reference to the reading from Pieniny Mountains – we received some years earlier.

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor”

The point is that we are invited above all to be witnesses of Christ, and there is not important our structure.
But to do that we need to be healing from our demons (the second part of the reading) that cause that we often lose the way (we fall into fire or water).
Jesus says that we need prayer (adherence to Jesus - the source of our life) and fasting (primarily from our concepts, our wishful thinking).
We need faith (trust in God, that he is the only one on whom we should to resist - like on a rock – when the time is hard). And then we can do great wonders (in accordance with God's will, but not miracles for miracles).
God invites us to be his heralds - as John the Baptist. It is a great thing. God calls each of us to be witnesses of Christ - in spite of our sins and the littleness and the fact that often we are not worthy to be witnesses.
